The single flows as he interweaves different points of his life and showing us certain inflection points where he becomes self-aware takes steps back to refocus and align himself for something better. He touches on the internal conflict with the lyric "I’m extra demon but I’m blessed as fuck" showing the dichotomy of ones doing things that aren’t necessarily right but understanding that it could be a lot worse given that actions that are being done. While listening the single many times through, the track has me feeling that even though tough times arise I can get through by digging deep into self-reflection and general self-investment. He sings lyrics of “traumatized a lot of shit done changed him” showing his vulnerability as an artist. In addition, he shows his bravado with the lyric of "put respect on my mother fucking name bitch" howeverI think it’s more indicative of being respected instead of being liked so that people won’t walk all over him. I find that you either stand for something or fall for everything. This song is motivating knowing that trials and tribulations come but when you bet on yourself you will be rewarded. Also, that some relationships run their course when the trust is broken. The song has a nice balance with the lyrics and sound with the rock inspired production that I look forward seeing on either an album or ep. His sound reminds me of PartyNextDoor or Bryson Tiller but it is distinct enough to separate from the them.
