The Agua design team began with an analysis of the existing restaurants brand architecture to understand how each facet of the business was represented. The brand required a strong and recognizable symbol but this had to be balanced with a level of differentiation between key players in the market place. However, after this initial evaluation it was clear that the differentiation was in fact a there, and that brand identity was the right solution. In addition, a key part of the brief was to create an identity that maintained flexibility so new brand products or sub brands could easily be incorporated into the brand family.
